e4 is proud to support Houston’s own Recipe for Success! The Recipe for Success Foundation was launched in 2005 by Gracie & Bob Cavnar to lead the way in combatting childhood obesity by changing the way children understand, appreciate and eat their food and by helping the community provide healthier diets for our kids. In just a few years, their hands-on curriculum has grown to the largest outreach of its kind in the nation, empowering over 4,000 children each and every month with their evidence-based, signature Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™. Other initiatives, like the VegOut! Challenge, Farmers MarKIDS, Hope Farms and Eat It! Food Adventures, promote a culture where nutritious food is shared, appreciated and celebrated in Houston and nationwide. (http://recipe4success.org/)

How can you get involved? There are (3) distinct ways we would like to offer our attendees:

  1. You can donate:
    • e4 will be accepting cash donations on behalf of Recipe for Success. Please stop by the e4 Concierge Desk once in Houston to drop off your generous addition. Monies collected will help The Recipe for Success Foundation reach its educational goals, support its own Hope Farms, or even teach a United States Veteran to become a farmer!
    • Text to Donate:  Text #e4 to (713) 588-6320 and then it will ask you, "how much do you want to give to Recipe for Success Foundation?"  you then choose the donation amount.
  2. Take part in the “VegOut! 30 Ways in 30 Days Challenge”! This is an online 30-day challenge to eat a different vegetable every day for 30 days. This is a personal challenge, or you can sign up a team if you are feeling competitive. Visit http://vegoutwithrfs.org/ for additional information. e4 will be committed to help you meet your personal goals if you choose to take part in this challenge by highlighting different vegetables throughout our many meal functions! Just look for the “VegOut!” symbol on menu cards and mark that veggie off of your list!
  3. If you have not already chosen your Tuesday afternoon activity, please consider choosing the “A Healthy Recipe for Success”. You will see firsthand the incredible work Recipe for Success is doing for the youth of Houston, as well as nationwide by visiting Hope Farms, cooking your own healthy lunch, as well as participate in a community service project with their Seed-to-Plate Nutrition program. An inspiring afternoon you will not want to miss!
